Mt Tabor ADU
Only one space remained untouched in this carefully renovated mid-century residence perched atop Mt. Tabor – a 650 SF basement space that was perfect for a phased approach to an ADU. In the first phase, the owners asked for a space that would accomodate a recreation room, an additional bathroom, and a bonus/craft room, while setting the foundation for a second phase that would turn the space into a fully self-sufficient ADU for guests and short term rental. Creating a sunken patio and stepped landcaping elements that take advantage of the site’s grade, the scheme creates a series of “levels” while bringing light and a private, quiet patio to the future ADU’s bedroom.
