Sellwood Bungalow
When our clients moved up to Portland from the Bay area, they immediately fell in love with the location of their new Sellwood bungalow, but knew that the house needed a major transformation. Originally built in 1925, and redone DIY in the early 2000s, the clients wanted to bring back the original charm of the home, such as the arched opening in the dining room, and craftsman casing and built-ins throughout the home. THESIS was called on to produce a design that would evoke many of these beloved craftsman details in a cohesive way throughout the home, while introducing new finishes in key spaces – particularly a completely redesigned second floor master suite. The result was an elegant twist on modern and traditional bungalow, with tile, fixtures, and hardware sourced mostly from local makers in Portland. Photos by Chris Dibble
