A multi-generational family who relocated to Portland to pursue their passion of wine-making needed a design that would foster an age-in-place environment for the grandmother, while simultaneously providing enough room to spread out for adults and soon-to-be teenagers. What ensued was a collaborative and iterative process involving several designers, with THESIS ultimately answering the call to complete the design and oversee construction by Hammer & Hand. Inside, THESIS designed three bold and distinct bathrooms to punctuate the three levels of the home, while outdoors, poured concrete stairs to unite a new guest wing addition with the primary volume to create a cozy, outdoor amphitheater effect.
