South Tabor Mid Century
When the client purchased this home from the nearby church as a gut-to-the-studs investment project, they fell in love with it in spite of themselves and made it their primary residence with the dream of the midcentury marvel it could be. Fast forward 1 year later, THESIS Studio helped them spearhead a comprehensive remodel, including a fully finished 1300 SF basement level with surprising amounts of natural light, and a moody, masculine lower level bathroom and sauna. Upstairs, every surface was touched, resulting in an open-concept floorpan uniting the kitchen, dining and living, for a spacious and light-filled interior with a warm palette of mixed wood species and midcentury inspired finishes and furnishings. Whimsical and bold tile selections are interspersed through the project, along with luxe and custom details such as radiant floors, panel-faced appliances, waterfall quartz countertops and large original wood-burning fireplaces and mahogany casework on both levels.
