Lake Oswego Modern
A young and growing family who had previously completed a large remodel of their Lake Oswego midcentury home still had two important spaces that didn’t quite fit – the kitchen and the master suite. Cramped, dark, and soffitted, the spaces simply did not meet the family’s need for openness, flow, and clean, modern lines. Drawing from work that had already been done in the prior remodel, which had established a strong language of stark contrast – dark ebony floors and white walls – the updated kitchen is an exercise in playful angles, open sight-lines to the existing living spaces, and sleek modern finishes. The nearby master-suite is more reserved and quiet, with a calming neutral palette and strong details in black.
